It’s not all about football…

Haven’t posted much recently as over the past few weeks I’ve been busy with work, commercial work to be exact. I’m going to make an effort to post as often as I can here, the feedback has been great so you may see some variation between the individual posts until I create the perfect blog. I’m beginning to appreciate video, more, more so than previously, I own a Canon 1DX Mark II, it would be a shame to not use it… But thats for another time, maybe Blog post 10, 20, 30, or something like that.

Survivex commercial photography shoot…

Survivex, the Aberdeen based training company for onshore and offshore personnel asked me to spend one day in and around the sections of their training centre – Specifically the offshore survival hall and fire ground.

Now, there’s quite a lot of work that these guys need to do to be able to get offshore in the first place; medicals, theory, lots of practical assessments – Including the dreaded HUET escape.

I did my own BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) which is a requirement to work offshore when traveling by helicopter. So I know first hand, what is required and expected of someone joining the offshore industry.

The instructors have a combination of offshore, military, emergency services backgrounds etc. to provide training in what is a state of the art centre, complete with weather effects and a wave machine. If anyone is reading this and due to do their initial training, Its simple really. Do as you’re told, and you will be fine.

Below are a few of the photos from the day. You can view more of my commercial works on my portfolio.
